Vikings, Greenway and The Journal Bid Adieu in Win Over the Bears

The Minnesota Vikings finished their season with a bang on New Year’s Day at U.S. Bank Stadium, walloping the hapless (and completely checked out) Chicago Bears 38-10. The Vikings started strong scoring on the first drive and finished even stronger, but it only served to cause fans to wonder where this offense and defense has been the past few weeks.

Bears at Vikings Official Game Thread

The 2016 Vikings season mercifully comes to end today with the Vikings playing host to the Chicago Bears at the U.S. Bank Stadium. There are some other things ending as well, and if you haven’t heard about it yet, then this musical link is here for you.

Bears at Vikings Game Preview

The terrible 2016 season (and year, for that matter) comes to an end on Saturday, and for the Vikings, it ends with a whimper and no playoffs. The Vikings host the Chicago Bears at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday to start the New Year off and end this disappointing campaign. Hopefully, the Vikes go out with a bang and, for a moment, help their fans think about anything but 2016.

Grinchy D-Backs Steal the Game Plan from Zimmer

It’s Christmas Day, and it is doubtful that Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is feeling like Santa Claus. If he is, it’s because he recently added several players to his naughty list. In the wake of the Vikings loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, it came out that the defensive backs ignored the game plan and it did not sit well with the coach.

Vikes Fall to the Pack and Out of the Postseason

Christmas came a little early . . . for the Green Bay Packers, as they throttled the Vikings 38-25. The Packers, who now have won five in a row, have a chance to win the NFC North Division next week in Detroit, while the Vikings’ slim hopes for the playoffs were seen blowing away like tumbleweed in the icy winds of Lambeau.

Vikings at Packers Game Thread: Last Dance

The Vikings travel to Lambeau Field to take on the Green Bay Packers with the season on the line. If they win (and a couple other things happen—losses by Tampa Bay and Washington), they live to fight another week. But if they play like last week, the season is over. What it comes down to is this is the Vikings “last chance for romance,” this season. What will they do with it?

Enemy Fan Forums: Green Bay Packers

Do we really want to know what Packers fans are saying about this weekend's matchup? Well, probably not ... but here we go anyway! Here is this week's edition of Enemy Fan Forums.

Vikings at Packers Game Preview

We can only hope that the Vikings are still feeling the embarrassment of playing a bit “lackadaisical” against the Indianapolis Colts last week. (A score of 34-6 should make you feel it for a while.) Because the Vikings will need every bit of their skill, tenacity and emotional investment when they take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field on Christmas Eve.

Four Vikings Earn Pro Bowl Selection

It's been a rough couple of months since the Minnesota Vikings started their season with a 5-0 record. On Tuesday night, the NFL announced the Pro Bowl selections for the February game in Orlando. Four Minnesota Vikings were named to the team.

Vikings' Playoff Chances--Slimmest Glimmer of Hope

If you watched the Vikings game on Sunday, you would surmise that their season is over. They looked dead on offense and dead on defense, and they resembled a team ready to play out the string when everything was still on the line for them. Well, everything still is on the line for them as there is a slim chance that they can make the playoffs. How will they respond?

Colts Trample Vikings as Minnesota's Season Nears an End

Perhaps the Vikings thought they didn’t have to play hard because Adrian Peterson was back—he would come in and do it all. He didn’t. He contributed to the debacle, but not in the way every hoped, as the Indianapolis Colts came into U.S. Bank Stadium and cold-cocked the Vikings 34-6.

Colts at Vikings Official Game Thread

So, Adrian Peterson is “extremely hungry” to play football again. That’s a far cry from last week when he said he wouldn’t play this season if the Vikings were out of it. He appears to have married the thoughts that one of those things can help keep the other from happening. So, I say let the man eat—this Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts at U.S. Stadium--and the Vikings agree.
