NFL Draft

Rival Recap – NFL Draft Edition

By now, Vikings fans are fully aware of the excellent draft class assembled by Rick Spielman and Co., but what about their division rivals?

Vikings Draft Picks Getting High Initial Grades

The Minnesota Vikings have officially wrapped up their 2016 NFL Draft. Addressing some needs and taking a few chances at other positions, the Vikings feel pretty good with the haul they walked away with. According to NFL.com, the Vikings got an "A" ranking on each of the three draft days giving them an overall average of, you guessed it, an "A"!

Vikings Draft Round Up--Day 3

On Day 3 of the 2016 NFL Draft, the Minnesota Vikings started the festivities with six picks in rounds 4-7. General manager Rick Spielman planned to make the most of them to fill holes in the lineup and round out his 90-person roster for training camp. We are recapping those Day 3 picks and anxiously await your take on what went down.

NFL Draft Day 3

If you watch the coverage of Day 3 of the NFL Draft, you are likely to hear about the Day 3 draft picks that made it big. You'll hear about Tom Brady and Terrell Davis and other big names. Will the Vikings be able to find a major contributor on the draft's final day?

More important, will they be able to find a couple of players that can contribute to a winning team over the next couple of seasons?

The Vikings have addressed their Wide Receiver position with their first-round pick of Laquon Treadwell. In the 2nd round, they added Cornerback Mackensie Alexander. But there are more questions that Vikings fans may have heading into Day 3.

Trader Rick Looks to the Future Trading his 3rd Round Pick

It’s like Rick Spielman had an itch that he just needed to scratch. Rather than make a selection in round three, Trader Rick and company traded the pick with Miami, and the Vikings received a sixth-round pick this year and a third- and a fourth-round (compensatory pick their lowest fourth) in the 2017 NFL Draft. This is what we have come to expect.

Zimmer "Sizes Up" A Corner in Alexander

After head coach Mike Zimmer stepped aside (slightly) on Day 1 of the NFL Draft to allow general manager Rick Spielman to select an offensive player (wide receiver Laquon Treadwell), he got another defensive player on Day 2. With the 54th pick in the draft, the Vikings selected cornerback Mackensie Alexander from Clemson to add another piece to his secondary.

Official NFL Draft Day 2

Day 1 is in the books, and the Vikings are off to a hot start, snagging one of the top prospects in the Draft, Ole Miss receiver Laquon Treadwell. There's plenty more where that came from, as rounds 2 and 3 take place tonight!

Vikings Get Physical at Receiver in Treadwell

The Minnesota Vikings went big and physical with their first-round pick in selecting Laquon Treadwell, a wide receiver from Ole Miss, at No. 23 overall. Treadwell is 6-2 and 210 pounds and a year ago might have been the top wideout in the draft. But an injury and a bad time in the 40 may have dropped his stock. But don’t tell that to the Vikings.

Official NFL Draft Day 1

It's a date that NFL fans wait (not necessarily) patiently for as soon as their team's season comes to an end. They watch the NFL Combine. They sift through mock draft after mock draft. They read rumors and hope that the picks their team make can take them to the next level. The NFL Draft is finally here.

3 Players The Vikings Might Draft If They Don't Take a WR

There’s an interesting thing happening surrounding the NFL Draft this year. It’s not completely unusual to see Draft Day trades go down and players or picks to swap hands from team to team. What we don’t usually see though is precisely what’s happening this year with the draft just one week away.

Are The Eagles Eyeing A QB?

In the "down time" during the NFL offseason, some teams have provided us with more than enough excitement lately. First, Tennessee traded the top pick in the 2016 Draft to the Los Angeles Rams, and now the Cleveland Browns have sent the number two pick to the Philadelphia Eagles!

Breaking News: Eagles acquire the number two pick in the NFL draft in trade with the Browns.

But Why Defensive Tackle?

In recent months, it has become apparent that the Vikings' interest in the draft's defensive tackles is more than just a smokescreen. The Vikings are rumored to have met with at least five and will likely meet with more before the draft starts up in just a few weeks.
